After having children, I didn't want to let my hard-won stained glass skills grow rusty, but site visits, and dangling off ladders and hauling large sheets of glass about became unviable.

I had to make a Plan B.

I started off with a few of my small, colourful birds, selling on-line and to friends. They sold well, and more designs pinged around my head, which were sketched on scraps of paper while babies and toddlers napped, and then made late into the night.

As for the name - it comes from a 1970s children's TV programme called Play School.

I loved that programme.

There was a part where they went through one of 3 windows (square, arched or round) and found out about something - how things were made, people's jobs, that kind of thing.

Sometimes I feel like I'm one of those people that were Through The Round Window - doing something unusual, interesting, a bit odd.

My designs are influenced by 1960s and 70s children's illustrations, graphics, random and geometric patterns and the natural world.
